After reporting that US sales dropped for a fourth consecutive month in April from last year, Ford is bringing back employee pricing and free EV chargers in its latest push. Ford offers employee pricing and free EV chargers in May Ford said on Monday that US sales fell 14% in April, marking its fourth straight month of lower sales figures from 2025. The American automaker sold a total of 178,667 vehicles in the US last month, a considerable drop from over 208,000 in April 2025. Ford’s electrified vehicles, including hybrids and all-electric models, were hit the hardest with sales down 31% from April 2025. Hybrid sales fell 32% to 15,758 vehicles, while EV sales continued to crash with just 3,655 all-electric models sold last month, 25% fewer than in the year prior. (Source: Ford) Through the first four months of 2026, Ford’s EV sales have fallen 61% from last year, with F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E sales down 67% and 50%, respectively. Ford has sold just over 10,500 electric vehicles in total so far this year, including 7,270 Mustang Mach-Es and 2,944 F-150 Lightnings. For comparison, Toyota sold just over 10,000 bZ models in the first quarter alone. That’s more than Ford’s total EV sales in Q1. In its latest effort to boost sales, Ford is bringing back employee pricing this month on most new 2025 and 2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles. It’s also offering EV buyers a free Level 2 home charger, 24/7 live support, and proactive roadside assistance through its Power Promise program. The program was initially launched in October 2024 and is now extended through July 6, 2026. While Ford is phasing out its first-gen EVs, it’s betting on smaller, more affordable models based on the new Universal EV platform. The first EV will be a midsize electric pickup, due out next year or in 2028, that Ford said will start at around $30,000. With employee pricing, the 2025 Mustang Mach-E starts at $36,005, and the 2025 F-150 Lightning starts at $50,646. Separately, Ford is also offering purchase incentives of up to $9,000 on 2025 Lightning models and up to $6,000 on 2025 Mustang Mach-Es. Ford’s deals end on July 6, 2026, and may vary by region.
