Fiat Multiplina Concept Imagines a Tiny EVFiatThe Fiat Multipla name may now be synonymous with a strange late-1990s minivan, but it was first used on a people-carrier based around the tiny Fiat 600 city car. While the 600 (or, more specifically, the closely-related 500) has long been an inspiration for retro-looking Fiat hatchbacks, the original Multipla has never been given such a nostalgic revival. A new concept closely related to the Topolino microcar aims to fix that glaring mistake.Fittingly called the Multiplina, the new concept was shown Wednesday only as a rendering in advance of a planned full reveal later this year. Details are scarce, but Autocar reports that it will be built to a higher grade of quadricycle standards than the Topolino. That should mean an increase over that model's 46-mile range and a much more respectable 55 mile-per-hour top speed, up 27 mph on the Topolino. This should help bridge the gap between the novelty-adjacent Topolino and Fiat's true city cars, like the electric 500. In theory, it would leave the Multiplina as a serious option for buyers looking for a solution to drives in and around major cities without forcing those would-be Multiplina owners to embrace a full-sized car, or all of the complications and extra steps that come with owning it.FiatFiat also revealed a version of its Tris delivery three-wheeler aimed at the hospitality space, a concept called the Tris Dolcevita (seen above). The beachy-looking trike may not be the perfect car for everything, but it does seem like the ideal vehicle to transport clients of a vineyard, chateau, or other open-air resort around a sprawling property in cartoonishly charming style.AdvertisementAdvertisementBoth the Multiplina and the Tris Dolcevita are just concept cars for now, but if you cannot wait any longer to get your hands on an adorable little not-a-car from Fiat, the brand has something for you: the Topolino is indeed headed for American shores, and you can get your hands on one soon enough. You Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
