The introduction of additional Volvo VNR Electric trucks will therefore take the total size of this fleet up to 40.The trucks themselves will be used on local and regional delivery routes, where Coke says ‘predictable operations make them well-suited for battery-electric technology’. They feature a six-battery configuration capable of covering 440km on a single charge across ‘several’ daily round trips between a distribution centre and customer locations. To support this deployment, Coke has installed a number of three-port 180kW Heliox Flex chargers – one in Quebec City and a two more in Vancouver, giving the fleet access to a total of nine dispensers. This is in addition to three 150 kW DC chargers with a further nine dispensers installed at its Montreal depot in 2023 when the agreement with Volvo was first announced.Linking the electric fleet expansion to Coke Canada Bottling’s environmental footprint, company president Tony Chow said: “This expansion marks an exciting evolution for our growing fleet of electric vehicles. We’re pleased to be adding seven new Volvo trucks to service our customers across the Lower Mainland and the Quebec City region. This is one of the ways we’re taking action to reduce carbon emissions across our business while continuing to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers.”Matthew Blackman, managing director, Canada, Volvo Trucks North America, added: “Coke Canada Bottling has taken what they learned early on and turned it into a practical, multi-region deployment. When you see electric trucks running predictable, high-frequency routes like these, it shows how well the technology fits into everyday fleet operations.”Elsewhere, Coca-Cola fleets are also introducing Volvo electric trucks. In November 2025, Toll Group & Coca Cola announced plans to replace existing diesel vehicles with 12 Volvo FE Electric trucks forthe Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) delivery network in Australia.volvotrucks.us
