CCTV News reports the facility operates five fully automated production lines with a combined annual capacity of 300,000 units. The expansion reflects growing demand for more compact and higher-power electric drive systems, particularly in applications where weight and packaging constraints are critical. Although axial flux motors have long been viewed as a promising alternative to conventional radial flux designs, large-scale manufacturing has historically been limited by production complexity and materials engineering. Automated production supports commercial scale The Lanxi facility operates five automated production lines, each incorporating 152 manufacturing processes. Pan-Good Power says each line required an investment of 50 million to 60 million yuan (7.38 million to 8.86 million USD) and reports a production yield exceeding 98%. The company attributes part of the manufacturing process to a proprietary rare-earth magnet steel formulation combined with upgraded thermal-processing techniques designed to reduce thermal demagnetisation under high operating temperatures. Material development was carried out in collaboration with the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Axial flux motors are being deployed in heavy-duty electric trucks and other industrial applications. Compact design builds on earlier performance breakthrough According to Pan-Good Power, its axial-flux motor occupies about half the volume and weighs 50% less than a conventional radial-flux motor delivering comparable output. Earlier benchmark data published in June by the research institute cited peak performance of 25.73 kW/kg and rotational speeds exceeding 18,000 rpm. Those figures relate to the high-performance motor platform rather than production specifications for every commercial unit. The development also comes as Chinese automakers and suppliers pursue different approaches to improving electric drive systems. On July 21, Geely opened pre-sales for the Galaxy TT Ultra, the first production model equipped with its 16-in-1 “Thunder” electric drive system. While Geely’s system integrates 12 hardware modules and four software functions into a single unit, Pan-Good Power is focused on scaling production of axial flux motors, underscoring how manufacturers are pursuing different solutions to improve EV powertrain packaging and efficiency. Continuous power ratings, operating-voltage architecture and detailed commercial specifications remain undisclosed. Heavy trucks lead deployment as exports expand Commercial deployment is currently centred on new energy heavy-duty trucks. CCTV News reports the motors reduce vehicle tare weight by approximately 200 kg while lowering electricity consumption by 5% to 10%. The motors have also been adopted across more than 100 application scenarios, including electric motorcycles, marine equipment and robotics. International shipments are expanding alongside domestic production. Exports to Turkey increased 520% year-on-year, while shipments to Thailand rose 150%, with Pan-Good Power’s products now reaching more than 30 countries and regions. The production expansion coincides with continued growth in China’s electric heavy-duty truck market. State media reports cumulative new energy heavy-duty truck sales increased 85% year-on-year during the first half of 2026, while June sales rose 107% from a year earlier. Pan-Good Power also says it has filed 1,708 patent applications related to axial flux motor technology. The company has not disclosed customer identities, specific OEM supply agreements or prospective passenger vehicle programs, leaving the extent of future automotive adoption beyond the commercial vehicle sector unclear.
