Unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy is the 2026 Suzuki SV-7GX. Filling inn the model gap between the SV650 and the V-Strom 650, the SV-7GX is more a road touring motorcycle following the design of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX. Using the same engine as the aforementioned Suzuki SV650 and V-Strom 650, the SV-7GX comes with a 90-degree V-twin displacing 645 cc, with some engine revision. Chages have been made to the intake and exhaust tracts to improve combustion, while also complying with Euro 5+ emissions requirements. The V-twin mill is mated to a six-speed gearbox, fitted with an up-and-down quickshifter. Power for the SV7-GX is rated at 73 PS at 8,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6,800 rpm. The SV-7-GX comes with ride-by-wire throttle, giving it three riding modes – A for sport and the most aggressive, B for road riding and C functioning as a rain mode with power limited to 60 PS. There is also traction control, adjustable to three levels and able to be switched off at the rider’s discretion. The current SV7-GX was shown with cast alloy wheels, sized 17-inches front and rear, indicating a road-oriented intent rather than a more adventure-touring style like the V-Strom 650. Suspension uses 41 mm diameter telescopic forks in front with 125 mm of travel, while the rear monoshock is preload-adjustable with 129 mm of travel, while ground clearance is just 135 mm, a big difference from the V-Strom 650’s 170 mm. Braking is done with a Tokico four-piston calliper on the front wheel with single 240 mm diameter disc, and a single disc and single-piston calliper on the rear wheel. Two-channel ABS is standard equipment. Riding information is shown on a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT-LCD, which comes with connectivity to the rider’s smartphone, with a USB-C charging port located alongside the panel. This allows for the usual display of call, message and musics functions, as well as turn-by-turn navigation. Other riding conveniences include hand guards, three-position manually adjustable windshield and LED lighting fitted throughout, including LED projector headlights. With a listed weight of 211 kg, the SV7-GX carries 17.4-litres of fuel in the tank, and seat height is set at 795 mm.
