Women to be celebrated at vintage vehicle eventBBCGrace McGrory - East Yorkshire & LincolnshireWed, September 9, 2026 at 4:16 PM UTCAdd us on GoogleRace the Waves will take place in Bridlington from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September [East Riding of Yorkshire Council]Women who have been involved in organising a vintage motoring festival will be celebrated during this years event, organisers say.Race the Waves, in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, is a tribute to the 1900s when local beaches were used for motor racing land speed record attempts.It will be held from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 September and is free to attend.Jules Osbourn, one of the organisers, said: "People focus on the event, but the lead up to the event and the support that is needed is really important as well.
