@__strawberryqueen__/TikTokDealing with unexpected repairs in any car is stressful, and they can sometimes be very costly, as one poor woman found out. Emily Turner, who goes by @__strawberryqueen__ on TikTok, shared a recent experience she had after spending $1,500 to fix a coolant leak in her car after going to a Take 5 garage. In her video, Turner said she seriously regretted taking the car to the Take 5 garage and claimed that they "literally ruined my vehicle," while hoping to give a PSA to "young naive women," of which she claims to be one. It was clear from her video that she wasn't happy in the slightest. The video recounts her tale of going to Take 5 before her car broke down, leaving her stranded on the road some four hours from home. It was only thanks to two fellow motorists who stopped to help that she realized what the problem with her car was.AdvertisementAdvertisementThat left her incensed about her visit to Take 5, and she alleged that her car had been ruined by the garage despite only taking the car in for a service. Her story could act as a warning for other young drivers. This Is What Turner Said Happened at Take 5Turner said that two weeks prior to her video, she had taken the car to Take 5 for some maintenance. While at the garage, the Take 5 team said that because her car had exceeded 150,000 miles, she needed to have her coolant flushed. “They assured me that since my car was over 150,000 miles, I needed to get my coolant flushed. So I said yes," she said. It was two weeks after this that she got stuck at the side of the road. While out driving, her car stopped, and she was left stranded on the side of the road. Being over four hours from home, she was a bit stressed, but two other drivers came by to help her. After they had a look at her car, they found that there was no coolant in it. “They take a look, and I literally have zero coolant in my car,” said Turner. She claimed that this cost her an additional $1,500.“I said yes because I am stupid and I didn’t know… $1,500 later I realized my mistake," said Turner. "This is a PSA to literally never, ever go to Take 5 because they are idiots,” she angrily added. Turner had a coolant leak and said she had to replace the radiator in her car after what Take 5 had done. Was This Incident Take 5's Fault?Take 5 Grimsby/FacebookAutoZone says that coolant should be replaced between 60,000 and 100,000 miles. So replacing it after 150,000 miles is well over that mark, so Take 5 did have every right to suggest that. But it isn't clear if it had been changed at any point prior to Turner visiting the garage. Over time, the antifreeze will lose its effectiveness or become contaminated, and it can lead to leaks within the system.AdvertisementAdvertisementIt is entirely possible that flushing the fluid out of her car did cause a leak, and Take 5 simply didn't notice. But if her car was that overdue for a coolant flush, Turner may have had to deal with a leaking radiator no matter which garage she went to.Some Viewers Had Bad Experiences at Take 5Image Credit: Shutterstock. However, it seemed that Turner wasn't alone in having a bad experience at Take 5. Several viewers of her TikTok video claimed to have had issues themselves. “Take 5 is the reason my engine blew,” one said. “Went there the other day and Take 5 didn’t put my coolant cap back on,” added another. So Turner can take some comfort in that she isn't alone in having these problems. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don’t miss what’s coming next.
