Image Credit: VolkswagenWith the current onslaught of AI, it might feel that there is a huge threat to creativity. But the wider Volkswagen Group have shown that there very much is still a lot of that in the world, and that major corporations are taking notice.Andreas Mindt, Head of Volkswagen Group and Brand Design, recently highlighted the work done by one of the company's interns, Fabian Reitz, who also works in the design department. That came thanks to a remarkable Volkswagen sports car he had come up with. This is the ID. DIN T14, a radical and wild-looking VW that is unlike anything that the company currently produces. It is worth mentioning that this design, at least at the time of writing, is not for production. But it is still a truly brilliant piece of design, and one that certainly catches your eye.AdvertisementAdvertisementWe can't say whether it might be enough to prompt VW to put something like this into production. But it is rewarding to see such talented work be recognized, and go noticed by someone at the top of one of the world's largest automotive manufacturing groups. The ID. DINT T14 Concept Is Incredibly BoldThere is a certain element of Bentley to the car, thanks to the side profile and the lines around the rear. But at its heart, this incredible concept looks like a slick and very aerodynamically efficient grand-tourer, crossed with a modern hypercar. There are plenty of fascinating details to pick out across the car's entire bodywork. At the front is a very long hood, with a wide and arcing shape creating a very rounded-looking front fascia. Digital LEDs are used as headlights, with an array of them located on the lower portion of the front fascia. Moving along the hood, there is a curvatious canopy area, and an incredibly sleek side profile with almost no bumps or any form of aerodynamic appendages. The only things that interrupt the bodywork are the vents towards the back of the rear wheels. The bodywork then bulges out a lot at the rear wheels, which look bigger than those at the front. Around the rear of the car, however, is where this design really gets wild. The rear quarter panels suddenly arch in, and we are presented with an aggressive design and a massive rear diffuser. Very thin talighlights complete the look at the back. Why This Design Matters So MuchImage Credit: VolkswagenWhile it's highly unlikely Volkswagen will suddenly present the ID. DINT T14 as an actual production car, there are still reasons to be excited about this. Firstly, just the design itself. It is a truly striking-looking sports car, and it's great to see a young designer go so bold with one of their projects. It is a breath of fresh air in a world of mostly stale car designs.AdvertisementAdvertisementSecondly, it's great to see Volkswagen rewarding someone who has shown so much talent. With AI making life so easy for some, it would be tempting to just get AI to design a car like this. But Volkswagen has rewarded its real designers, allowing their incredible work to be shown to the world. It proves that creativity is still thriving, even if sometimes it feels like it isn't.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
