Gasgoo Munich- Seyond and Shanghai Boonray Technology have forged a strategic partnership aimed at deepening collaboration on unmanned and green mining initiatives, according to an April 15 report by industry outlet Gasgoo.Image Credit: SeyondMining sites are notoriously harsh—plagued by heavy dust, extreme temperature swings, steep slopes, and sharp turns. These conditions demand perception systems with exceptional precision, stability, and environmental resilience. Boonray specializes in low-carbon, autonomous mining solutions. Its driverless haul trucks are already deployed across more than 30 projects nationwide, spanning coal, metals, and building materials. The firm has established a comprehensive "unmanned driving + unmanned battery swapping" operational framework. By January 2026, Boonray’s fleet had logged over 60 million kilometers, with some sites running continuously for nearly four years without a single safety incident.Seyond supplies the LiDAR backbone for these autonomous operations. Its Falcon platform boasts image-grade perception, ultra-long-range detection, and robust anti-interference capabilities—features essential for navigating rugged mining terrain. The solution is currently active in over 20 mining zones, safeguarding the routine, safe operation of nearly 10,000 intelligent haul trucks.Under the agreement, Boonray’s autonomous trucks will be equipped with Innovusion’s Falcon LiDAR. The partners plan to integrate perception hardware, AI algorithms, and cloud-based dispatching to streamline the entire workflow—from loading and hauling to dumping. The goal is to boost safety, efficiency, and intelligence while removing workers from hazardous environments.Looking ahead, the two companies aim to deepen joint R&D and refine their solutions for specific scenarios. By creating replicable models, they hope to accelerate the intelligent transformation of various mining types—shifting the industry from isolated pilot projects toward large-scale adoption.
