Gasgoo Munich-On September 19 that at the 2026 TEDA Forum, SERES’s Liu Zongcheng shared insights on the company’s practices and reflections regarding AI’s reconstruction of the auto industry, centering on the theme of deep “Automotive + X” multi-industry integration. He argued that AI is becoming the core engine of industry iteration, with vehicles evolving from mechanical products into intelligent terminals capable of perception, reasoning, and learning — a shift that is blurring the boundaries between cars and robots.SERES’ strategy unfolds across six key areas. First, it is building a “1+2+N” strategic partnership framework: anchoring on SERES itself while uniting with two core partners, Huawei and CATL, to openly link with top-tier global industrial resources.Image Source: GasgooSecond, the company is constructing the SERES Industry Brain. This involves a knowledge graph with 2 million nodes and over 20 million data points across the vehicle-road-cloud ecosystem. The result: R&D efficiency has climbed 20%, while on-time delivery rates have improved by 3 percentage points.Third, SERES is streamlining its supply chain into a “three-tier” structure. It has consolidated its Tier 1 supplier base from 300 companies to fewer than 100 — including more than 20 global top-tier firms — creating a one-hour supply chain loop.Fourth, the company is transforming into an AI-native enterprise, embedding AI capabilities across the entire business chain of R&D, manufacturing, and service. Built on an AI foundation, this effort targets five technical directions. Its super range-extender system can identify over 1,100 driving scenarios, while smart manufacturing covers more than 5,800 inspection points with AI quality control precision exceeding 99%.Fifth, SERES is rejecting extensive growth. Instead, it advocates for “five highs” — high safety, high reliability, high performance, high experience, and high value. Recently, the company completed a rigorous 7-day, 7,000-kilometer real-world test spanning all scenarios on vehicles currently on sale.Liu revealed that SERES currently boasts 1.2 million high-end active connected vehicles. The AITO brand has reached a value of $3.45 billion, ranking first among China’s luxury automotive brands. He also issued four proposals to the industry on behalf of SERES: foster orderly competition and self-regulation against predatory pricing and data falsification; promote openness and fusion by building a national collaborative innovation platform focused on automotive-grade chips and data security; uphold high standards to build user trust through authentic data; and enter global markets with a high-quality ecosystem, treating overseas expansion as a must-win battle for the next decade.
