DENVER (KDVR) — A semitrailer driver who crashed into a gas station building last month is facing a charge after investigators found no mechanical issues with the vehicle. The crash happened at a QuikTrip gas station in the 2300 block of West Belleview Avenue on the afternoon of March 10. The semitrailer apparently struck another vehicle and pushed it into the building. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital and was later released. The semi driver, identified on Friday as 33-year-old Daniel Torrez, told investigators at the time that he believed the truck’s brakes failed before the crash, according to the Littleton Police Department. South Metro Fire Rescue responded to the crash to stabilize the building before turning it over to the property owners. There were five employees and 25 customers inside at the time of the crash. The semi truck driver declined medical treatment on the scene and no other injuries were reported in the crash. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
