According to Geely, it was also the country’s top-selling vehicle across all segments in 2025, with 465,775 units sold. Measuring around 4.14 metres in length, it is 15 centimetres longer than the BYD Dolphin Surf. The model is also 1.81 metres wide and 1.58 metres tall, with a wheelbase of 2.65 metres.Geely began expanding the model internationally in November 2025, launching it in Brazil under the name EX2.Geely initially imported the vehicles from China, but the company had already signalled plans to establish local production in Brazil. To support that strategy, Geely acquired a 26.4 per cent stake in Renault do Brasil in November 2025. The investment gave Geely access to Renault’s manufacturing facilities in Brazil as well as its dealership network, enabling the company to quickly build a distribution system in the market. The partners now refer to the joint venture as Renault Geely do Brasil—and this entity has now announced the start of local production of the Geely EX2 at the Ayrton Senna plant in Paraná. The EX2 is Geely’s first battery-electric model to be manufactured at the facility and the second overall, following the plug-in hybrid Geely EX5 EM-i.“The production of the Geely EX2 at the Ayrton Senna plant represents far more than the localisation of a model. It is a strategic step for Renault Geely do Brasil, combining global technology with a strong local industrial base. We continue to invest in Brazil,” said Ariel Montenegro, President and CEO of Renault Geely do Brasil.Geely is also expanding its retail footprint in Brazil. Although the company had initially planned to use Renault’s existing dealer network, not all locations appear to be operational yet. Geely says it has now opened its 33rd sales outlet, in the southern city of Caxias do Sul. The carmaker aims to have more than 40 sales points by the summer and reach 90 per cent national coverage by the end of 2026.renault.com.br, geelybrasil.com.br (both in Portuguese)
