The inaugural Mecum Nashville kicks off tomorrow, September 22, and runs through Saturday the 26th at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee, with an estimated 1,750 vehicles crossing the block over five days. For a debut event, that is a staggering number, and it says a lot about how much consignment muscle Mecum can bring to a brand-new venue.Seventeen distinct collections anchor the docket, and the headliner is the Roush Automotive Collection. Jack Roush's fingerprints are all over American motorsports and performance engineering, and the group of cars carrying his name offers a rare, concentrated look at that legacy in one place. Johnson's Horsepowered Garage is bringing a slice of its own personal stash as well, heavy on custom builds, muscle cars and the kind of one-off machines that come out of a shop where people actually turn wrenches for fun. Rounding out the marquee groups is the Steve Meadows MSM Global Collection, which stretches from brass-era survivors to golden-era muscle and covers well over a century of automotive history in a single consignment.Three individual cars are doing a lot of the promotional heavy lifting, and all three deserve it. The modern entry is a 2026 Aston Martin Valhalla showing 174 miles, a hybrid supercar built around a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 making a combined 1,064 horsepower, wrapped entirely in carbon fiber. It is the most technically ambitious road car Aston has ever built, and finding one at a U.S. auction this early in its life is unusual on its own. On the classic side, there is a 1968 Shelby GT500KR fastback wearing Shelby number 04407 with a matching-numbers 428 Cobra Jet, which remains one of the most desirable configurations of the entire Shelby Mustang run. Then there is a 1969 Dodge Daytona hardtop, one of just 503 built for that model year, packing the 440 rated at 375 horsepower and all the aero drama of that nose cone and wing. Very few auctions can put a hybrid hypercar, a Cobra Jet Shelby and a winged Mopar on the same schedule.AdvertisementAdvertisementMecum has always treated the paddock as part of the show, and Nashville is no exception. Derek Bieri of Vice Grip Garage will hold a meet-and-greet on Wednesday, September 23, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 1 to 3 p.m. Metal artist and welder Rae Ripple will be working live throughout the week, including on the piece she plans to sell at Mecum Kissimmee in 2027, which is worth stopping for if you have never watched that process up close. And because the whole thing is happening at an actual racetrack, attendees can sign up for the NASCAR Racing Experience and take three laps around the 1.3-mile oval in a real stock car with a professional instructor riding along.
