Called UX 3.0, the interface is set to be delivered via an over-the-air update to 2025 and newer Air models. Other Air models from model years 2022, 2023, and 2024 can receive the interface update through a hardware upgrade — an infotainment processor — available for $950. Although the Gravity interface carries over, UX 3.0 also brings the SUV some improvements. "The Air UX 3.0 update reflects our commitment to the continuous improvement of the customer experience," said Marc Solsona Palomar, VP of Software at Lucid. "Lucid Gravity owners will enjoy more reliable and intuitive experiences as the Air update brings the latest advances to their vehicles."Dive Insight:Lucid promises faster, more intuitive controls for the Air with UX 3.0, and in its release on the interface upgrade it sums that "owners can control media, access vehicle controls, make calls, route to saved home or work destinations, or find nearby charging stops more easily."With the revamped interface, the Left Cockpit Panel — the upper display to the left of the gauge cluster — now opens with swipeable "cards" for frequently used features. With UX 3.0, the Air expands Apple CarPlay and Android Auto experiences across the full Right Cockpit Panel, according to Lucid, allowing more space dedicated to phone-supported tasks like making calls, using music apps, or sending messages. Smartphone mirroring had previously been restricted to a smaller box within the screen. The Pilot Panel, the Air's retractable lower center touchscreen, has been reconfigured with UX 3.0 to show temporary cards when certain features are active — with a swipe allowing the full app on that screen. It's also now been set up so that drivers can swipe down from the top of it to access frequently used settings and controls. Further, drivers can now simply pull the app's card downward to expand it into the Pilot Panel, and there's a pull-down Quick Controls menu for key settings.UX 3.0 also allows faster profile switching, plus more control over linked keys and an easier way to reset the vehicle's Guest profile. Other additions include Favorites, an Auto Dark Mode, and an entry/exit feature that will move the seat relative to the saved seat position.Lucid says that owners can contact the company's Customer Care for eligibility and availability information.
