Most recently, he served as General Manager for Energy and Charging Infrastructure at Einride since September 2024, a company renowned for its electric and autonomous freight transport solutions – though his role also encompassed charging infrastructure. Additionally, Wiecher previously sat on the supervisory boards of Virta and Hubject, giving him in-depth knowledge of the charging industry. He also spent many years working at E.ON.The company’s announcement does not comment on the future role of founder Tore Harritshøj. It therefore remains unclear whether the former CEO – as is common in such cases – will transition to a supervisory role or remain connected to the company as an advisor. Recently, Spirii has secured several high-profile clients, including DHL Express Norway, Daimler Truck, and Circle K.“Spirii has been on an incredible journey – from a small team of pioneers with a bold vision to the international company we are today, and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve built together,” says Harritshøj in a statement. “Now feels like right moment to hand over, and I’m confident that Mathias is well positioned to lead Spirii forward.”“I’m honored to take on the role as CEO of Spirii at such an exciting time,” says the new CEO, Wiecher. “Spirii has an incredibly strong foundation, a talented team, and a clear purpose. Together with Edenred, we have a unique opportunity to scale our solutions and play an even bigger role in driving the electric transition for fleets.”Edenred is a French company specialising in transaction solutions – mirroring Spirii’s work in the field of electromobility. In 2024, the French firm acquired the Danish charging platform to strengthen its business in transaction solutions for the charging sector. “Over the past years, Spirii has built a strong, market-leading offering within platform-based charging solutions,” says Diane Coliche, Global COO Mobility at Edenred. “It is now ready to scale even further accross markets and I’m confident that Mathias is the right person to lead this next phase of growth, with the objective of helping fleets worldwide in their electrification journey, leveraging the full capabilities of the Edenred Group.”ritzkau.dk
