Lamborghini Now Has a Warranty That Lasts as Long as Kia's

A good car warranty is one you hope never to use. It's a promise that if something breaks, the automaker will pay for the repairs, but each one has specific teams. Some warranties are short—three years or 36,000 miles—while some reach a decade, and Lamborghini is now one of those companies.

The Italian automaker has announced a new program that starts with offering a five-year warranty on the brand's latest models: the Temerario, the Revuelto, and the Urus SE. Lamborghini also provides an eight-year standard warranty on the high-voltage batteries in its hybrids.

Then there is the Selezione Warranty Extension program that will protect the supercars for up to a decade, from the car's first registration. That would put it on par with Kia's 10-year warranty, which is also good for 100,000 miles. Lamborghini doesn't mention a mileage limit with its warranty, but the company's previous one, which was good for just three years, had unlimited miles.

These programs will allow Lamborghini to keep its cars on the road and in good condition, "thereby safeguarding—and even increasing—its value," said Giuliano Cassataro, Lamborghini's head of after-sales. "Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their cars."

Protecting the value of its cars protects the brand. Ferrari offers a range of warranty options, including one that covers vehicles up to 15 years and up to 56,0000 or 75,000 miles.

Warranty Coverage Matters

Despite how good modern cars are, issues can still arise with them in the first few years of ownership. This is when the warranty matters most, and each manufacturer is different. A decade-long warranty is not the norm, but becoming more common. Kia and Hyundai off 10-year powertrain warranties.

Ram recently announced it would offer a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty on the 2026 1500 pickup because owners are keeping their trucks longer than ever. Chevrolet extended the 2024 Silverado's warranty to 100,000 miles, but it only applied to a single model.

While warranties are often for new cars, Toyota offers one warranty for certified pre-owned vehicles that provides a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. What makes it interesting is that cars that are up to 10 years old with up to 125,000 miles are eligible.
