Every year, the Jeep brand and Jeep Performance Parts head to Moab, Utah for a massive customer off-roading event called Easter Jeep Safari. As a special treat, Jeep brings along concept vehicles based on new and classic models from the company's lineup, often with special paint jobs, cool upgrades, and unique powertrains. 2026 is the 60th annual EJS, so Jeep and JPP wanted to make sure it brought some epic concepts to this year's event.Jeep says the six concepts it built for the safari this year pay homage to the company's 4x4 heritage but add a "fresh dose of next-generation attitude." Compared to previous years, there are no electric vehicles or experimental powertrains, and aside from one restomod, most look nearly production-ready. The brand's press release even says these concepts "preview the vehicles that will shape the future of off-roading." That sounds like a hint to us. New Wrangler Concepts Jeep It wouldn't be a Jeep event without the iconic Jeep Wrangler, and the halo model is well-represented with three out of the six concept vehicles. Jeep Wrangler Anvil 715 Concept JeepThis is the most extreme of the bunch, built for overlanding and using the 6.4-liter V8 from the Rubicon 392 trim. You can spot the Anvil straight away from its square headlights, which resemble the SJ Series Wagoneer and YJ Wrangler. This concept is upgraded with skylights, an integrated roof rack, onboard air system, forward/rear lighting, and heavy-duty steel bumpers. Inside, it features custom upholstery and a unique Trails Off-Road map system on a larger touchscreen. Wrangler Buzzcut Concept JeepNamed after a military haircut, this concept imagines a potential two-door wrangler with a fastback roofline. It features a roof that's been chopped two inches, which pairs nicely with a two-inch suspension lift and 37-inch tires. A Vitamin C Orange paint job with a black hood and roof completes the sporty appearance. The concept is equipped with Jeep Performance Parts, including a steel front bumper with a Warn winch, TYRI lights with orange rings, a snorkel, flat fenders, rock rails, a steel rear bumper, and Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform custom roof rail. Jeep also customized the interior with orange seatbelts, orange accents, and replaced the rear seats with a lockable storage drawer. Wrangler Laredo Concept Jeep Jeep's last Wrangler concept brings back a familiar name, which has been used on several models in the past (and currently) to denote a base model. The Wrangler Laredo Concept is based on a Willys trim, and could preview what a future replacement for that model could look like. This concept strips the Wrangler down to the "bare essentials," meaning a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and a manual transmission. Half doors, a custom roof, and retro styling cues give it a tasteful nod to past Wranglers, while a two-inch lift and 37-inch tires provide modern capability. Inside, we love the throwback cloth inserts and custom dash pattern. Modern And Classic Luggage Carriers Tom Murphy/CarBuzz/ValnetBeyond the requisite Wranglers, Jeep decked-out its flagship Grand Wagoneer and a single Gladiator pickup truck. And for the nostalgic fans out there, Jeep stepped back to the 1980s for a chunky Cherokee from days gone by. Grand Wagoneer Commander Concept JeepBased on the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which recently received a major refresh and a name change, the Grand Wagoneer Commander Concept uses a name that was previously worn by a seven-seat model that left production in 2010. This full-size SUV boasts 35-inch tires wrapped around 20-inch wheels and custom skid plates, meaning it can tackle tough terrain. The Grand Wagoneer is already massive, but the Commander Concept also gets a custom roof rack and a dedicated tow rig to carry even more equipment. Jeep Gladiator Red Rock JeepThe eyeball-searing Gladiator is the only pickup truck of the bunch, built as a special project for the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Club, which donates their time to clean up and maintain off-road trails and public land. It features 17-inch beadlock wheels with 37-inch tires, a steel bumper with a Warn winch, rock rails, performance wiper blades, from JPP, plus a Rock Krawler three-inch Overland X Pro lift kit, rolling truck bed cargo tray, and cargo system rack. XJ Pioneer JeepMost of the safari concepts are based on modern projection vehicles, except for the XJ Pioneer. This one is a two-door 1986 XJ Cherokee that Jeep restored to celebrate the nameplate's return as a hybrid crossover. Jeep kept the exterior mostly stock-looking, but the XJ rides on 33-inch tires with a two-inch lift kit and a quick disconnecting sway bar. You may also spot the custom carbon fiber fender flares and structural rock rails.Inside, the cabin is fully modernized with a classic flare, including a period-correct radio, and other Easter eggs such as a Rubik's Cube and wood beat seat covers. This one uses the original 2.8-liter V6 engine with 80,000 miles, which ran well enough that it didn't warrant a modern engine swap.Jeep "If it wasn't such a great runner, we probably would have taken the motor out and done something different. But we got it, and before we tore it apart, we drove it, and it was just such a blast, Chris Piscitelli, senior design manager for Jeep, explained. "So it's not going to win any whole-shot drag races, but it does get out of its own way. And when it's crawling, it'll get after it. It was clean, but then to see that it was just such a nice one-owner time capsule, it was like, 'All right, we don't really need to do much.' This became kind of an exercise in what to leave alone."CarBuzz is headed to this year's Easter Jeep Safari, so stick around for more off-road action from Moab.Jeep Wrangler Buzzcut Concept3
