The mission was simple. Turn an empty, hollow van into a fully functional, off-grid adventure rig.Building out a camper van isn't just about making a space look good on camera. It is about precision engineering in a tight footprint. Every single square inch matters when you live on the road. I spent the past few weeks putting in nonstop hours to bring this layout to life, and the progress is starting to pay off.The cabinets are almost completely finished. The drawers are built, fitted, and set on heavy duty slides. The big challenge with living on the move? Everything wants to slide open the second you hit a winding mountain pass. To solve that, I installed custom magnetic catches inside the main drawer units. The result? Rock solid.AdvertisementAdvertisementNicole and I also tackled the wall paneling, covering up the raw insulation that used to line the interior. Over on the driver side, I custom-built a bench seat that hides a massive pull-out drawer specifically designed to house our fridge. We still need to build out the upper cabinets and add a storage shelf near the ceiling, but walking through the space now actually feels like walking into a home.Building a rig like this takes time, patience, and a lot of trial and error. But when you finally see the custom woodwork come together, there is nothing quite like it.
