The refresh notably removes the previous base trim, which lacked cruise control, backup cameras, and a centre screen. China’s Odyssey is not to be confused with the physically larger North American Honda Odyssey. The MPV is manufactured by the GAC Honda joint venture, with exports to the Japanese market commencing in late 2023 after local plant closures. These features are common on China’s domestic NEV SUVs and MPVs The new Pro base model stands out for its 12.3-inch centre screen, larger than the 10.1-inch screens on the higher trims. The previous entry-level Odyssey was one of China’s priciest vehicles without an infotainment screen. With an asking price of 175,900 yuan (26,200 USD), it lacked common features such as cruise control, backup cameras, and a multi-function steering wheel, with a blanking plate in place of a centre screen. More on the Odyssey The Honda Odyssey measures 4,861/1,820/1,712 mm and has a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Its seven seats are arranged in a 2+2+3 layout. Chassis-wise, it features front McPherson struts and rear torsion bar suspension. Curb weight is rated at 1860 – 1973 kg depending on trim. All trims get a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated HEV powertrain, producing a combined 158 kW (212 hp) via an E-CVT system. WLTC fuel consumption is rated between 5.88 and 6.17 L/100km. Monthly sales for Honda’s MPV have hovered around 800 units in the past four months. The refresh, with its screen-equipped base model, could be the key to boosting sales back up again.
