Hand-Built Widebody Ferrari F355 Rolls Into Las Vegas With No ReserveA 1996 Ferrari F355 that turned heads at the 2019 SEMA Show is headed to the auction block in Las Vegas this September, offered with no reserve.The car is not a lightly modified Ferrari. Its builder skipped the bolt-on route entirely and reshaped the body from the ground up, sculpting the panels in clay by hand before scanning them digitally to produce molds. The result is a widebody that reads as a single continuous shape rather than a collection of add-ons.Up front, the redesigned bumper borrows from the F40, while the sculpted fenders take their cues from F430 Super GT race cars. Vented hood work, carbon-fiber front and side splitters and a flat underbody secured with CNC-machined, aircraft-grade fasteners finish the nose. A one-off carbon-fiber wing rides above the decklid on chassis-mounted uprights styled after the 488 GTC. Cooling ducts sit in the C-pillars, the taillight panel is vented, the exhaust outlets have been relocated and an F430 Scuderia diffuser caps the underside. The engine came out for a full major service, including a new timing belt, before work began. Two mirror-image Xona Rotor turbochargers sit high in the bay on a machined frame, fed by polished aluminum charge piping arranged in matching arcs. Supporting the setup are 3D-printed intercoolers behind the rear tires, Tubi headers, a ceramic-coated Inconel exhaust with 3D-printed tips flanking the rear emblem, an upgraded oil pump, an aftermarket sump and a relocated fuel filler. The car has covered fewer than 100 miles since the work was completed.AccuAir E-Level air suspension lets the F355 settle nearly flat on the ground. One-off polished Rotiform wheels fill the arches, with 15-inch-wide rears wrapped in stretched Toyo R888R rubber.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe interior follows the same theme without overreaching. Momo F40-style seats sit on sliders and side mounts, paired with red harnesses and a suede Momo wheel. Billet carbon-fiber floor mats and prototype magnesium-base carbon-fiber mirrors add to the parts count, though the gated shifter remains the focal point.Since SEMA, the car has appeared at shops, retail spaces and museums.
