The remaining vehicles replaced earlier-generation EVs with lower battery range. However, the postal operator has only added battery-electric vans to its delivery fleet. Its heavy goods vehicles run on fuel. Albeit the company says that 95 per cent of its trucks switched from diesel to hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) during the fourth quarter of 2025.In parallel with fleet electrification, An Post stated that 99% of its buildings now operate on green electricity. “The battle for sustainability never ends, and the need is as great as ever,” said An Post CEO David McRedmond.Owen Keogh, Head of Sustainability at An Post, said the latest report demonstrates ‘how sustainability and commercial success can advance collectively.’ He added: “With 575 new, larger EVs being deployed in the first half of this year and a tighter focus on green energy optimisation and support for circular economy initiatives, we continue to make great strides towards our Green Light Energy Goals.”anpost.com
