Leading Chinese electric vehicle maker, Nio has showcased its ET5 electric midsized sedan that can has 1000km of driving range. Yes, you heard it right, the Nio ET5 can go up to 1000km on a single charge. Here’s how.

Nio has revealed the ET5, a midsize sedan that comes with contemporary features like integrated LED DRLs and a unique headlight setup. Apart from these, there are also frameless windows, soft-closing doors, a ducktail spoiler, and a full glass roof among others.

Other than the said features and characteristics, buyers have a choice of 9 different paint schemes and 6 interior themes. Interestingly, the brand has stated that the inside of the cabin uses sustainable fabric made out of 100 recycled PET bottles. This is a unique concept that automakers are trying to follow.
What else is offered?
The Nio ET5 comes with most of the gizmos that can be found on an electric car, by all standards. The interior features a 12.8-inch touchscreen with integrated NOMI assistant, lighting for ambience, panoramic immersive AR/VR experience.
The Performance
Further, it is built on the 2.0 technology platform that enables the utilisation of a dual-motor setup that produces 360kW or 483BHP of power in total and 700Nm of torque. The motor in the front produces 150kW which is 201BHP while the rear motor produces 210kW that is 282BHP.
Moreover, the brand offers three battery pack options to choose from- a 75 kWh pack that provides a driving range of 550 km, a 100 kWh pack that presents a 700 km range and a 150 kWh battery setup which offers a 1000 km driving range. These driving range figures have been claimed by China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle or better known as CLTC. In terms of performance delivery, the Nio ET5 clocks 0 to 100kmph in just 4.3 seconds
Other than these, the EV also features 8 different drive modes-Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Sand, Snow, Wet, and Custom which can be set based on the driver’s requirements.
What’s the price tag on one?
The Nio ET5 comes at a starting price of Rs-38;90 lakhs (328,000 yuan) in China and is a strong contender against the likes of the Tesla Model 3-SWIPE UP TO READ MORE.
The base model of the Nio ET5 EV comes at a price of Rs.38.90 lakhs (328,000 yuan) in China and is said to rival the Tesla Model 3. However, the said cost is before the government subsidies in China.
