ABB has launched the world’s fastest EV charger, the Terra 360, which promises just that!
Have you ever seen or heard of the world’s fastest EV charger? ABB, an electric vehicle infrastructure development company has launched the World’s fastest EV charger named “Terra 360”. Here’s everything you need to know about it!
The Terra 360
ABB, a technologically advanced electric solutions company has launched an all-in-one Electric Vehicle (EV) charger which is said to be the fastest EV charger currently available on the market. The EV charger is called the “Terra 360”- a modular charger that has the capacity to juice up four vehicles simultaneously with dynamic power distribution.
The modular charger is designed in such a way that drivers of EVs can pull up to another plug without waiting for one vehicle to fully charge. The new charger from ABB has a maximum power output of 360 kW and has the capacity to fully charge an electric car in just 15 minutes, unlike other chargers that take many hours.
“With governments around the world writing public policy that favours electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate is higher than ever,” said Frank Muehlon, President of ABB’s E-mobility Division. “The Terra 360, with charging options that fit a variety of needs, is the key to fulfilling that demand and accelerating e-mobility adoption globally.”
Theodor Swedjemark, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at ABB has stated that this EV infrastructure will benefit the environment by reducing the global carbon footprint
“It’s an exciting day for ABB, who as the global leader in [electric vehicle->https://www.topspeed.in/motorcycles/motorcycle-news/drag-race-ev-power-vs-ic-power-the-revolt-rv400-takes-on-the-yamaha-fzs-ar159074.html] fast charging, is playing a key role in enabling a low carbon society,” said Theodor Swedjemark, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at ABB. “With road transport accounting for nearly a fifth of global CO2 emissions, e-mobility is critical to achieving the Paris climate goal. We will also lead by example by switching our entire fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles to non-emitting vehicles.”

It has an integrated lighting system that guides through the process of charging
The charger will be made available in Europe by the end of 2021, and Latin America and Asia Pacific regions in 2022. The Terra 360 has a lighting system that guides its users regarding how to charge and the process.
It also presents the State of Charge (SoC) of the battery pack and the time remaining to charge the EV battery in an optimal state. ABB has also made sure to make the EV charging infrastructure wheelchair accessible and has an ergonomically designed cable that can be quickly plugged without much effort.
