The Cape 1000 Road Rally is taking place this 19-23 March in the Western Cape province and will allow local enthusiasts to witness 60 rare, vintage, and exotic cars complete a scenic 1,000-mile (1,609km) drive lasting for four days and five nights.
The first leg of the journey takes place around the Cape Town and Hermanus area, after which the cars will make their way to Geroge, followed by Franschhoek, and then back to Cape Town on the final day for the closing festivities at the V&A Waterfront.
Most notably for this year’s event, the organisers have confirmed the attendance of a Bentley Blue Train, Bugatti Veyron, Datsun Y 1600 SSS, Ferrari Daytona, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, as well as a 1957 MGA Roadster 1600.

“With such an incredible line-up of some of the rarest vehicles in South Africa, we thought it would be amazing to share the opportunity to see them in the flesh with the public,” said Vanessa Crichton, Cape 1000 event director.
As such, the occasion is playing host to various driving challenges including a timed rally, mountain passes, a track day, and a long-haul driving adventure – with free spectator areas positioned along the route for visitors to watch the drivers in action.
Those fans who are unable to catch the Cape 1000 in person can follow along on the event’s Facebook and Instagram social channels.
Those who are lucky enough to be in the same areas as the rally can head to the below locations on the respective days to spectate the automotive art in the metal.
