The reveal of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is still some time away, though as it gets closer several international digital artists have tried their hands at guessing how it will look.
While some of the renders, like the one above from motor.es, seem to rely on heavily disguised test cars from spy photos, there are some recent clues that point to a different design direction for the new Santa Fe.
Hyundai’s design language has undergone a revamp over the last few years, with new models like the Staria people mover, 2024 Hyundai Kona or the recently released (but Korea-only) Grandeur featuring strip headlights that span the width of the car’s fascia and ‘smoothed’ overall lines.
While the above render has a light strip, we suspect the final car will have a different face.
Further hints for this come from leaked interior photos posted to Korean social media account Bobaedream which show an interior that looks incredibly similar to that of the Grandeur.
It’s not only the steering wheel that seems to be near identical, but much of the centre console geometry and control placement (such as the climate control screen) seems to carry over.
(Image: @bobaedream on Instagram)While it’s not guaranteed that all the pre-production elements will be the same once the final version of the 2024 Santa Fe is realised, the likelihood is that this is going to make up much of Hyundai’s interior design.
What’s not clear is what will power the next Santa Fe, though it can be pretty much guaranteed Hyundai will use a similar hybrid system to the current model.
The 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and hybrid system has only just become available as a powertrain in Australia, and could even mean the demise of the diesel engine as an option if Hyundai follows rivals in replacing their oil-burners with more efficient hybrid models.
Expect to see the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe revealed in the coming months, though the car arriving on Australian soil within the year isn’t guaranteed.
