Turn it up as we test Koenigsegg's £2.3m, 1,578bhp hypercar on road and track
12 minutes 44 seconds
According to Christian von Koenigsegg, “the name Absolut comes from the fact that this is the absolute fastest Koenigsegg that we will ever make”. Welcome to the Jesko.
The engine is a flat-plane-crank 5.1-litre twin-turbo V8 that for the most part feels naturally aspirated and always very angry indeed. It produces 1,578bhp and 1,106lb ft of torque, can rev from idle to 8,500rpm in 0.2 seconds, is able to hit 62mph from rest in around 2.5 seconds and top out – in this Absolut version – on the scary side of 310mph. Theoretically of course, because no one’s found the space, or the bravery, to find out. Yet…
Only 125 will ever be built costing around £2.3m each, though deep pockets won’t help here – they’re all completely sold out.
Allow Top Gear magazine’s Jack Rix to be your guide on the fastest Koenigsegg ever.
