Toyota’s are commonly referred to as being bulletproof, but this armoured Toyota Land Cruiser 300 takes that to the literal extent as Inkas Armored Vehicles Manufacturing demonstrates in this video.
Inkas Armored Vehicles Manufacturing have provided some insight behind the testing process which makes their cars as safe as they are. Their latest YouTube video embedded below demonstrates the remarkable amount of battering that their armoured Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is able to withstand while yielding a 100% passenger survival rate. The SUV on the other hand, we aren’t so sure about.
The model is initially shown with an array of bullet holes on every surface of the SUV, well technically they are not holes since none have penetrated any of the glass or metalwork. These include over 780 rounds from various calibre guns but the real party trick of this armoured Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is its ability to shirk explosions, atop or below its structure.
Further testing includes discharging 6 DM51 grenades on the roof and 4 under the floor. If this isn’t enough to prove its mettle, 2 landmines are detonated and 15 kg of TNT is exploded from a distance of 2 metres. None of the pummeling was sufficient in compromising the safety of the occupant within. This was fortunately just a test dummy and despite the shock and awe of the explosions on the exterior, interior footage seems far less severe with the SUV only rocking gradually.
We can only imagine how much research and development has gone into proofing this vehicle for occupant protection. If you don’t dabble in any dodgy dealings or have a bounty hanging over your head, Inkas also offers some ultra-VIP conversions which includes this Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Limo. With all of the added weight to their VIP of armoured vehicles, don’t expect them to handle like they did when they rolled off of the production line though.
