Volkswagen of America has released a teaser ahead of the three-row ID. Buzz's world premiere is next week, showcasing the front fascia lighting we've seen in other markets. But it does get an illuminated VW logo, which isn't standard on short-wheelbase models and may simply be used for the marketing materials, but would make a neat addition if used on the production-spec van.
The US-spec model will only be available in long-wheelbase configuration. It will reportedly add more than 10 inches to the wheelbase, allowing the all-electric van to accommodate three rows of seating for seven occupants. We can expect the middle row to be fitted with two captain's chairs, which can be swiveled to face the third-row passengers.
While the teaser photo didn't reveal a lot, our spy photographers captured the long wheelbase version earlier this year. It doesn't look significantly different from the short wheelbase version. Volkswagen is expected to offer various electrified powertrain setups, including a rear-wheel-drive version that could make 201 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive version that could deliver at least 295 hp but perhaps as much as 355 if it borrows the ID.7 GTX's powertrain. The RWD version could run up to 260 miles on a single charge, with the AWD version expected to offer a slightly lower range figure.

The reveal from Huntington Beach in California will be live-streamed, with the Volkswagen USA News YouTube channel now allowing interested individuals to open notifications once the stream goes live.
Volkswagen remains mum regarding the pricing. But one can expect the price could start around $40,000. While the launch is scheduled for next week, sales could start next year.
