Don't get stuck with expensive repair bills; know what your warning lights mean and avoid a mechanical nightmare by learning how to handle the respective lights.
The warning lights on a vehicle’s dashboard are there for a very good reason. They will alert you to the current condition of your car should there be a fault or something amiss. Ignoring these lights can, in some instances, have catastrophic repercussions. Knowing what the warning lights on your Volkswagen Polo Vivo’s dashboard indicate can help you keep your Vivo in tip-top shape and avoid unnecessary costs.
The warning lights on your dashboard consist primarily, of three different colours. Each colour represents a different level of severity, some requiring immediate attention, while others serve merely as notification and require no input from your side. This is how they work.
Red warning lights: Critical alert. Stop the car as soon as it is safe to do so and switch off the engine. Contact your dealership or roadside assistance service. Do not drive any further.
Amber/Yellow warning lights: Serious alert. Slow down and exercise caution; some vehicle systems may be faulty. Contact your dealership as soon as possible. You may continue driving only if necessary.
Green lights: System alert, non-serious. Green lights indicate ordinary vehicle operation or a system is effect. There is no input required from your side.
