Amarok owners will be able to spec their new ute with an Alpine pack that brings with it a suite of suspension modifications and underbody protection

Volkswagen Amarok buyers are being given the opportunity to beef up their dual-cab ute with an extensive list of off-road upgrades known as the Alpine package.

Limited to just 100 units, the Alpine and Alpine Plus packages will be available for the Amarok V6 Core, V6 Sportline, Highline and Aventura grades from the second quarter of 2022.

The V6 Amarok with the full Alpine package could be a competitor for a Ford Ranger Raptor or Nissan Navara Warrior.

The snorkel will help the engine breathe better when going under water

Volkswagen’s brand director of commercial vehicles Ryan Davies said that the package, developed in partnership with Seikel, “ensures the Amarok V6 even further broadens its appeal for customers wanting a high output drivetrain with even stronger off-road capability”.

What do you get with the new Alpine packages?

Priced from $6090, the Alpine off-road package includes a Koni Raid Offroad kit which raises ground clearance by approximately 25mm and includes front and rear twin tube shock absorbers. Eibach springs are also fitted to the front end.

A lower retainer for the front shock absorbers has been added, along with top and bottom spring plates, a front suspension strut unit and a rear 25mm spacer with special leaf spring brackets.

Mechanical upgrades include a breather kit for the transmission, transfer case and front and rear differential.
