Vinfast will soon offer its vehicles in Germany. It all starts with Pininfarina’s two electric SUVs, the VF e35 and VF e36. They’ve now been unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Vinfast is coming to Germany: starting in 2022, the Vietnamese manufacturer will sell its new electric SUV in Europe. To that purpose, Vinfast is implementing a sales approach similar to Tesla’s: automobiles are sold directly to clients over the Internet, and business showrooms will be located in major cities.
As a result, Vinfast has bolstered its management team with former Tesla executives. There are also ex-Apple marketing experts and Nissan electric vehicle department staff.
Bich Tran, the new European CEO of Vinfast, commutes between her new offices in Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt am Main.
Tran formerly worked in sales at Toyota Vietnam, among other places, at a period when the Japanese automaker held a 54 percent market share in Vietnam. Former Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller is the current Vinfast CEO; his predecessor, former GM manager James DeLuca, has returned to the United States but continues to advise Vinfast. The Vinfast management believes that now is a favorable moment to start as a new manufacturer, especially in Germany’s notoriously challenging automotive industry.
Vinfast does not sell its two BMW technology-based cars, the Lux A 2.0 and Lux SA 2.0, in Europe; instead, the Vietnamese are focusing on all-electric SUVs right now. The VF e35 is the smaller of the two cameras, while the VF e36 is the bigger. Both have now been shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Compact class: VE e34
The VF e34, VF e35, and VF e35 are the names of the group’s three electric automobiles, which are all SUVs. The VF e34 is a tiny car with a length of 4.3 meters and a wheelbase of 2.61 meters. It features a 150 kW (204 hp) engine and a battery that can store 42 kilowatt hours, according to the manufacturer. This, according to the manufacturer, allows for a 300-kilometer range.
Middle class: VF e35
With a length of 4.75 meters, the VF e35 belongs to the intermediate class (wheelbase also 2.61 meters). It is equipped with two electric motors with a combined capacity of 300 kW. (408 hp). The VF e35 has all-wheel drive since each motor is responsible for one axle. The mid-range SUV’s battery has a capacity of 42 kilowatt hours as well. The range that can be attained with this has yet to be confirmed by Vinfast.
The electric mid-range SUV VF32 is also coming to Germany.
