Vietnamese brand has big plans for the light, small and medium segments
After the successful debut of its VFe35 and VFe36 SUVs at the Los Angeles motor show last month, VinFast has announced it will reveal another three new and previously unseen models for the A, B and C segments at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), although it remains to be seen which of them will be SUVs and or passenger cars.
Designed with input from Pininfarina and Torino Design, all three models have been confirmed to be battery-electric and at least some of their development was carried out Down Under during VinFast’s tenure of the ex-GM Holden proving ground at Lang Lang.
The three debutants will complete VinFast’s EV line-up for the time being and, like the established VFe35 and VFe36, will be brimming with new technologies and a heap of safety gear including lane assist, collision warning, driver monitoring, fully automated parking, summon vehicle and more.
Voice assist, virtual assist and e-commerce services will also feature in the Vietnamese car-maker’s upcoming light, small and mid-size EVs.

While details are thin on the ground, we expect the new additions to ride on scaled down versions of VinFast’s bespoke EV architecture and feature generously sized battery packs, as per the VFe35 and VFe36.
Beyond the new models though, the Vietnamese upstart says it will also reveal a series of new technological innovations, some of which will utilise artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning, as well as announce a number of strategic partnerships.
“VinFast will bring high-standard designs, advanced technologies and a wide range of products to global consumers at CES 2022,” Vingroup vice chairwoman Thuy Le said in a statement.
“We contribute our best products to offer more convenient and accessible options for the public to transition to EVs and create a more sustainable future for our planet.”
There must be a certain amount of weight to VinFast’s claims and innovations given CES executive vice-president Karen Chupka welcomed the brand’s presence at the event which is set to be held between January 5-8.
“Tech has never been more important in our lives and CES is the global stage for brands to showcase how they are driving this change,” she said.
“The transportation and vehicle tech category is tracking for record growth at CES 2022
“We are thrilled to welcome VinFast as a first-time exhibitor to help tell this story as they share their bold vision of driving the electric vehicle revolution.”
