At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Vinfast is displaying a wide selection of electric vehicles and releasing the first German pricing. Vinfast, a Vietnamese automaker, is exhibiting five electric vehicle models at the Consumer Electronics Show (Consumer Electronics Show – up to January 7, 2022 in Las Vegas). VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 are the vehicle designations.
Parts of the VF 8 and VF 9 are previously known: Until now, the two electric SUVs shown in the autumn were known as the VF e35 and VF e36. The pricing for Vinfast’s two big models, the VF 8 and VF 9, are now available.
High-speed internet access
The Vinfast variants come equipped with a lot of connectivity: On board are a mobile house, a mobile office, in-car shopping, and a sophisticated entertainment system. The occupants may purchase online or respond to emails with the help of a sophisticated voice recognition technology, which reads aloud incoming communications.
The car interior should be able to change into a “entertainment area” for enjoyment. For example, while the battery is charging, the occupants may play computer games – Tesla has supplied this equipment for several years. In addition, the residents should have access to a virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence.
Modern driver assistance technologies
Vinfast debuted its assistance system package at the LA Auto Show in late November, which comprises a lane departure warning system, a collision warning system, a completely automatic parking system, and driver monitoring, among other things.
The creators placed a premium on the parking feature since they believe that few motorists like looking for and parking in a parking spot. The AI software VinAI created by Vinfast allows for driver monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and the prospect of semi-autonomous driving at level 2+. When the driver is wearing a respiratory mask, the driver recognition should still operate.
An infrared camera, for example, watches the driver; if the driver develops a health condition or otherwise makes a significant driving error, the technology compensates.
The company has high expectations for its models, which are also manufactured in Germany: On the market, all electric cars come with a ten-year warranty (applicable to a mileage of up to 200,000 kilometers).
Vinfast is currently three years ahead of Kia, the previous leader in automotive warranty. Even with Kia, the seven-year warranty assures better residual values since it is passed to the next owner when the car is sold, and it is also held at Vinfast after the car is resold.
Many manufacturers are still content with a far shorter guarantee duration – Vinfast has established a significant competitive advantage from the outset in a highly competitive industry.
Vinfast is also developing a new service system as part of its model attack, which will make automobile maintenance and repair as simple as possible for customers. The manufacturer said that it will either fix the automobiles at the customer’s location or pick them up and return them when the repairs are completed.
AI and charging infrastructure development partner
For its artificial intelligence solutions, Vinfast has teamed with Cerence throughout Europe. Cerence, a Microsoft company situated in Burlington, Massachusetts, focuses in the creation of artificial intelligence systems for automobiles.
English, German, French (including Canadian French), Spanish, and Dutch are among the languages supported by the created program. The Vietnamese and Électricité de France are collaborating to extend the charging network. In addition, charging options tailored to Vinfast clients have been created as part of the collaboration.
