VinFast, a Vietnamese automaker, is nearing completion of preparations to launch its assault on the European market. For its European debut, the brand will follow Tesla’s lead. It will sell its intriguing electric automobiles directly to consumers. Several models that will be available in 2022.
VinFast is finalizing all of the specifics necessary to launch its assault on Europe, one of the world’s largest car markets. If all goes according to plan and the crisis caused by the semiconductor shortage permits, the Vietnamese manufacturer will begin selling its electric cars in Europe in the spring of 2022, according to claims made by many executives.
VinFast will follow Tesla’s lead in entering the European market. Rather than expanding its network of official points of sale or entering into multiple partnerships with franchised dealers, VinFast will focus on selling online and through a limited number of its own storefronts. Eventually, it will abandon the traditional dealer model.
VinFast’s primary markets will be France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
VinFast will begin operations in France, Germany, and the Netherlands upon arrival in Europe. This was emphasized by Bich Tran, the company’s CEO. These are not random markets, as they account for a sizable portion of the monthly registrations of electric vehicles on the Old Continent.
Tran also mentioned that VinFast is considering expanding into additional European areas, including Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian region, as part of the company’s second phase of growth. A phase scheduled to commence in 2023. In Europe, the VinFast range will consist entirely of electric vehicles bearing the “Made in Vietnam” badge. They will be imported directly from the brand’s plant in Hai Phong, Vietnam’s north.
VinFast’s first two electric vehicles to arrive in Europe will be the e35 and e36, two SUVs designed by Pininfarina. The VF e35 is a mid-size SUV, whereas the new VF e36 will include a large cabin with seating for six. By the way, it is not ruled out that the VF e34, an electric compact that the firm launched in its home market, would be released in the future.
VinFast electric vehicles are scheduled to arrive in Europe in 2022.
Pre-orders for Europe will begin in spring 2022, with the first deliveries occurring somewhere in the summer, according to the top VinFast executive. Similarly, Tran emphasized that sales in the United States will begin virtually concurrently. The Vietnamese enterprise will enter these two markets concurrently.
VinFast hired Michael Lohscheller, the former CEO of Opel, earlier this year. Its target for 2022 is to sell 15,000 electrified vehicles. VinFast has teamed with industry leaders like as AVL, Bosch, Magna Steyr, and ZF to ensure compliance with European safety regulations.
