Fuel economy for the 2023 Toyota Prius tops out at 57 mpg city and 56 mpg highway for the LE. Higher-trim models with larger wheels return 52 mpg (city and highway).

As before, the Prius can be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The latter again uses an electric motor to power its rear wheels, and the more powerful motor allows all-wheel drive to be used under a wider array of conditions.

The center touchscreen measures 8.0 inches on the LE, while a 12.3-inch unit (pictured) is optional on the XLE and standard on the Limited.

The 2023 Toyota Prius starts at $28,545 for the LE. The XLE is $31,990, and the Limited commands $35,560. All-wheel drive is a $1400 add-on.

The standard Prius sees its total power output jump: from 121 horsepower previously to 194 (FWD) or 196 horses (AWD). The Prius Prime now boasts 220 horsepower.
