First unveiled to the world back in January 2023 to welcome the year of the rabbit and also to celebrate 10 years of the Vespa 946, the “Bunny” was officially launched in Malaysia just a couple of days ago, with an asking price of RM99,900.
The Vespa 946 10 Anniversario Limited Edition model here is the 1st collection of a series which will encompass 12 years. Limited and numbered, it will bring back the iconography of the lunar calendar.
Dedicated to the year of the rabbit, the Vespa 946 will be issued in a limited and numbered series of 1,000, and it is said that this will be only the first stage of a special project that will span the next 12 years and which will see the introduction of a new annual edition each year, inspired by the lunar horoscope animal of that year.
Rocking the classic Vespa Green colour in a burnished finish with warm reflections, the 946 “Bunny” Edition features caricature images of a rabbit in front and at the rear, complemented by the black double-upholstered saddle with polished stitching which is sewn by hand. Even the wheels are painted in Vespa Green.
Underpinned by an aluminium frame, the Vespa 946’s side panels, fenders, as well as the seat and handlebar cover are also made of aluminium-incorporated material which is lightweight but expensive, which explains why the model asks for so much more than the other Vespa models.
Power comes courtesy of a 155cc single cylinder, 3-valve, air cooled 4-stroke engine producing a maximum output of 12.7 hp and a maximum torque of 11.5 Nm. Other standard features include full LED lights, a digital LCD instrument panel, front and rear disc brakes, ABS, traction control, as well as an 8.5-litre fuel tank.
