V12 Cadillac Models & History 1936
The1936 V-12 Cadillac (series 36-80 and 36-85) was essentially a 1936 V-8 body with a twelve cylinder engine.
- Performance was greatly improved over previous V-12’s.
- Identification with the hood closed was possible only by reading emblems.
- Even dual exhaust pipes would no longer identify the V-12.
- A crossover pipe from left to right manifold resulted in a single exhaust system (with two mufflers in series).
- Commercial Cars and Chassis also shared the V-8 and the V-12 engines.
