New GT Sport variant to headline facelifted mid-size French SUV range
Peugeot Citroen Australia (PCA) is now inviting expressions of interest via its public website for the upgraded 2021 Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008.
Both facelifted French SUVs were revealed last September, when PCA said they were six months away from Australian showrooms, and now it says they will be available here in “coming months”.
The five-seat Peugeot 3008 (currently priced from $43,990) and seven-seat Peugeot 5008 (from $51,990) follow the launch of the all-new Peugeot 2008 small SUV priced from $34,990 in October.
Like the 2008, both the 3008 and 5008 are front-wheel drive, but both are also currently available with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, in addition to the base 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four.
Australian pricing and specs won’t be announced until closer to launch, but PCA has confirmed it will launch a new 3008 variant dubbed GT Sport, fitted as standard with Nappa leather and a “state-of-the-art” 10-speaker sound system from premium French audio brand Focal.
What’s more, it will be exclusively available with a ‘Black Pack’ featuring black trim elements and exclusive black 19-inch Washington diamond-cut alloy wheels with a unique Black Mist varnish.
As we reported last September, both the 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 will come with the option of a new 10.0-inch colour touch-screen with multi-touch technology, plus a range of cosmetic enhancements.
These include a new frameless grille, gloss black side scoops and a painted treadplate within a new front bumper design, plus full LED tail-lights comprising a ‘3D lion claw’ lighting signature, scrolling indicators and smoked lenses, extending the black boot strip to both sides of the vehicle.
