Dutch coachbuilder to produce small number of exclusive drop-tops based on the latest Defender
Netherlands-based Niels van Roij Design has released the first pictures of a convertible version of the latest Land Rover Defender.
Announcing that it will build just five examples of the 2022 Land Rover Defender Valiance, the Dutch coachbuilder has confirmed each of the modified drop-top versions will be priced from €138,000 ($A218,000) plus taxes.
Based on the short-wheelbase Land Rover Defender 90, the Niels van Roij creation looks like it will adopt an electric fabric roof in place of the standard SUV’s hard-top.
Despite only making five cars, the Dutch firm has detailed three custom finishes for the Valiance to help guide its customers when ordering their car.
One is named the Cote d’Azur and features blue paint and whitewall tyres, while another is called Solihull Sand and features a hue that links the roofless Land Rover with the 1948 original.
The final rendering is named Kokkini Paralia and is painted a dark matte red paint.
All versions are said to feature custom interiors and exterior detailing.
