Japanese car manufacturer Toyota has launched the Innova Crysta Limited Edition. The new Toyota Innova Crysta Limited Edition gets a few more features and is only offered with the 2.7-litre petrol engine.
Prices for the Innova Crysta Limited Edition start at Rs 17.45 lakh for the manual variant while the automatic variant of the popular MPV is priced at Rs 19.02 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Toyota Innova Crysta Limited Edition is based on the mid-spec GX version of the MPV which explains the aggressive pricing. The Limited Edition Innova gets a tyre pressure monitoring system, wireless phone charger, and a heads up display fitted directly at the dealership.
These dealer fitted features are usually costly add-ons (around Rs 55,000) but are now being offered to help push customers towards the petrol variants of the Innova. The new limited edition version of the petrol powered Innova Crysta comes just a few days after Toyota stopped taking bookings of the diesel versions of the popular MPV due to very heavy demand.
The major reason for the high demand for the diesel varaints of the Innova Crysta is its ARAI rated mileage of 15.6km/l which has made it quite popular vehicle for cab operaters across the country. The mileage is thanks to the smaller 2.4-litre displacement engine of the diesel variants that is also quite a torque monster churning out 148bhp at 3,400rpm and 360Nm of peak torque at just 1,400rpm.
The petrol powered Innova Crysta, on the other hand, draws power from a larger 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 164bhp at 5,200rpm and 245Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The petrol powerplant of the Innova Crysta has an ARAi certified mileage of 10.5km/l.
The big plus point for the petrol powered version of the Innova Crysta is the fact that the waiting period is a whole lot less than that for the diesel burning model. Petrol powered Innovas have a waiting period between 30 and 45 days which is a whole lot less than that of the diesel models which can stretch into months on end.
Toyota is also gearing up for the launch of the next-gen Innova in the Indian market. Expected to be unveiled November, the new model is expected to arrive in India in early 2023. The new model is expected to bear the Innova HyCross name and will feature a new petrol hybrid engine as part of Toyota’s electrification push in the Indian market.
