We list the top three safety features on a Toyota Corolla Cross that we think you should know about.
The Toyota Corolla has been around for quite some time, mostly in sedan form. However, over recent years, the Japanese automaker has added new interpretations, starting with a hatchback and now a crossover SUV. The Toyota Corolla Cross slots into a very popular segment and because of its styling, standard specifications and size, is quickly becoming one of the more popular offerings.

Pre-Collision System (PCS)
As standard on the Toyota Corolla Cross models in XR trim is the Toyota Safety Sense package. One of the items which comprise the package is the Pre-Collision System. This system utilizes a front-facing camera which scans the road ahead for stationary vehicles or pedestrians. The system will warn the driver and if actions are not taken quickly enough, will even apply the brakes and bring the vehicle to a complete halt, if deemed necessary.
Lane Trace Assist
The Toyota Lane Trace Assist system utilizes similar sensors to the pre-collision system. However, here the system scans the road for the lines separating the lanes. Should the vehicle veer onto one of the lines without the turn signal activated, the vehicle will warn the driver that they are veering towards another lane and, if needed, will make a small adjustment to the steering to guide the vehicle back in between the lines. Once again, this forms part of the Toyota Safety Sense package which is standard on XR trim models only. Note that this feature is not autonomous driving as it still requires regular input from the driver.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive Cruise Control is a more advanced form of cruise control where the system constantly monitors the vehicles in front of the Corolla Cross. Should the traffic slow down, the system will automatically reduce the speed of the Corolla Cross. Also, should the vehicles in front speed up again, the system will safely return to the speed set initially by the driver if conditions allow.
