We list what we think are the three most impressive safety features of a Jeep Gladiator.
The Jeep Gladiator has made waves in the local bakkie market with its rugged design, off-road capabilities and well-specified interior. Full-speed Forward Collision Warning Plus
The Jeep Gladiator comes fitted with a variety of safety and convenience features as standard specifications. One such feature is the Adaptive Cruise Control system which utilizes radar and sensors to detect vehicles in front of the Gladiator and maintain a safe following distance.
Another benefit of this system is the optional Forward Collision Warning Plus feature, which utilizes the same equipment to detect danger. Should the traffic in front of the Jeep reduce speed dramatically or come to a standstill, the Forward Collision Warning system will, through audible and visual means, warn the driver of the danger and also help mitigate an accident by applying the brakes.
Rear Cross Path Detection
Like most premium vehicles today, the Jeep Gladiator comes fitted with rear parking sensors. However, in the Jeep Gladiator, the sensors not only warn the driver of walls, cars or obstacles behind the vehicle while reversing but also of vehicles approaching from either side.
Thus, while reversing out of a parking lot, should a vehicle be approaching from either side, the rear cross-path detection system will alert the driver in order to mitigate a potential collision. At speeds below 6 km/h, the system will even automatically bring the vehicle to a standstill should it detect potential danger.
Blind Spot Monitoring
Also available on the Jeep Gladiator is a Blind Spot Monitoring system which, as the name suggests, alerts the driver through visual cues of vehicles travelling within the blind spots of the Gladiator. This, of course, ensures that the pilot does not change lanes while there is a vehicle alongside and in the blind spot.
