LEGO has upped the ante for its iconic Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 series with a life-size Technic model of more than 400,000 pieces.
After producing a 1:8 scale model in 2020, which featured just 3,696 pieces, LEGO and Lamborghini teamed up to build a 1:1 scale model that looms large over its first cousin. The 1:1 Sián measures 4.98 metres in length, 2.1 metres in width and 1.13 metres in height. It also weighs more than 2,200 kg.
The model is currently on display until October 6 at Lamborghini’s museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.
“Lamborghinis are considered dream cars throughout the world, and LEGO is a creative brand that inspires millions of people,” said Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “We are pleased to have taken part in the production of this exclusive edition of the Lamborghini Sián, which will win over both Lamborghini and LEGO fans in the same way.”
It took specialists from the Danish toy company more than 8,650 hours to build and design the replica, and more than 154 types of Technic pieces were used. Additionally, 20 of the original design pieces had to be moulded or were produced specifically for the project.
Fully equipped with an interior that is complete with seats, it has a steering wheel and paddle shifters. The front and rear lights also light up when its control panel is engaged.
