A Hero Splendor commuter floating on water is not something you see every day, do you?
Motorcycle stunts have come a long way, from jumping over snake pits or flying through hoops of fire. We have even watched an Australian daredevil and surfer Robbie Maddison riding his modified bike on the waves of Tahiti back in 2015. But have you ever thought of someone from India riding a motorcycle on water?
YouTuber Crazy XYZ is well known amongst his viewers for his crazy experiments and stunts. His latest creation is a bike that has the ability to float, thanks to a couple of drums tied together and mounted to a frame, which provides an adequate amount of buoyancy.
How does he make the bike float on water?
The Crazy XYZ team used four empty 220 litre plastic water drums and four iron pipes to create a structure that can float on water. They have used a humble 100cc Hero Splendormotorcycle to perform this crazy experiment. The presenter said they wanted a lightweight motorcycle that featured a self start option.
The presenter attached the iron pipes horizontally with the motorcycle and tied them up. After building the basic structure, they tied each of those plastic drums on all four sides of the iron rod. The buoyancy of the plastic drums helped keep the motorcycle afloat on water.
How did the bike move on water?
The presenter hasn’t made any modifications to the motorcycle itself. He turned the ignition on, put the bike in first gear, and gave it some throttle input. The spinning rear wheel acted as a makeshift propeller and helped the bike move in the water.
How could the bike have moved faster on water?
Crazy XYZ has almost 17.7 million subscribers on his Youtube channel
If the presenter could have slightly modified the bike by attaching a few fins to the rear wheel, the bike would have moved faster through the water. Nonetheless, this was a successful experiment
