Sliding around in a Jesko makes dealing with snow and ice a lot more fun.
- The Koenigsegg Jesko flexes its winter muscles in a cold climate test video.
- Koenigsegg’s Jesko is set to start rolling into customer hands this spring.
- The Koenigsegg Jesko’s 5.0-liter V8 makes 1280 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque on pump gas, and 1600 hp on E85.
Despite many Midwesterners preparing to flip the calendar to May, cold weather and snow didn’t get the memo. Except for a lucky Koenigsegg test driver, no one could have taken advantage of Koenigsegg’s ultra-powerful supercar, the Jesko. Though, Koenigsegg did take the Jesko out to show how it handles the cold stuff.
It doesn’t seem like this was any serious winter testing, and with the spring 2022 launch date, the folks at Koenigsegg have likely already performed all of its harsh-weather evaluations. That said, it never hurts to do some extra testing: especially when it helps show that your upcoming supercar handles winter weather well.
The Jesko, for those who have forgotten, is the next series production machine from Koenigsegg. Powering this beast is a 5.0-liter turbocharged V8 that sends 1280 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through the innovative Light Speed transmission. That power jumps to 1600 hp when burning E85 fuel, making this flex-fuel vehicle even more exciting to run on ethanol.
Though, you’re probably not going to see a Jesko at your local cars and coffee. Koenigsegg is looking at 125 examples of the base-model Jesko, with the even wilder Jesko Absolute seeing a smaller run. Still, it’s great to see how this machine handles the snow, even though it will probably never see any after it lands in a customer’s collection.
