The base model RX comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and keyless entry with push-button start. The 2022 Lexus RX 450h also comes with 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and keyless entry and push-button start engine. In addition, it has a simulated leather interior, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a nine-speaker sound system. The hybrid RX is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has six USB ports.

How much does the 2022 BMW X5 cost?

The 2022 BMW X5 price starts at $60,395 for the sDrive40i. There are more expensive options available as well, but this is what the base model X5 will cost you. So what do you get for a little over $60,000? A whole lot. The sDrive40i comes standard with rear-wheel drive as well as a 3.0-liter six-cylinder that makes 335 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. This is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, the 2022 X5 has 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and simulated leather upholstery. Power-adjustable, heated front seats are standard in the BMW X5, according to Edmunds. So is keyless entry with push-button start, a digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A navigation system and 10-speaker sound system are also standard in the 2022 BMW X5.

The Lexus RX vs the BMW X5: which is the better SUV?

Consumer Reports gives the 2022 BMW X5 a higher score out of the two SUVs. It gets an overall score of 90, while the 2022 Lexus RX gets an 81. Both SUVs are recommended by Consumer Reports, so either way, you’re getting a solid SUV. Still, the X5 has a higher road-test score, at a nearly perfect 98 to the RX’s 77. However, the RX does have a slight advantage in terms of reliability, scoring a 4/5 to the X5’s 3/5.

Other areas where the BMW X5 excels are braking, routine and emergency handling, and braking. At the same time, headlights in the RX are a little bit better. Another area where the RX shines is its driving control assistance. It comes standard with lane centering assist as well as adaptive cruise control, both of which are only optional on the X5.

While you can’t go wrong with either the 2022 Lexus RX or the 2022 BMW X5, the X5 is a better SUV overall. Yet it will cost you roughly $10,000 more. So is it worth it? That depends on whether a $10,000 difference will be largely noticeable to you. If it doesn’t majorly factor into your decision-making, then you’ll probably be happier with the X5. If, however, you want to keep your budget a bit more conservative, you’ll still love the RX.
