In its most recent assessment, the al-new 2022 Honda HR-V has been rated 5 stars by the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).

Like the 2022 Honda BR-V, the HR- was also subjected under the current ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 assessment protocol by obtaining 5-Star ASEAN NCAP ratings with each receiving an overall score of 81.38 points.

Based on the new Honda HR-V’s total score of 81.38 points, the 5-seater SUV achieved 35.00 points for the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 17.81 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 18.57 points for the Safety Assist (SA) category and 10.00 points Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

The Malaysian-market Honda HR-V is fitted with 4 airbags as standard; upper variants from the 1.5 E onwards receive 6 airbags. The Honda Sensing ADAS suite is a standard fitment across the line-up, offering features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Auto High Beam (AHB), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN). On top of that, the ingenious Honda LaneWatch blind-spot camera is also fitted to the upper variants.

One such technology is the Autonomous Emergency Braking for Motorcycle in which the technology is able to detect the presence of the preceding motorcycle and subsequently avoid collision with it. We have seen Honda equip similar technology in the Civic model and now consumers who favor SUV as their family vehicle will also benefit from this life-saving technology,” he added.
