Electric marque’s Model Y the clear leader last month for registrations as new car sales remain stable.
There were 11,176 new passenger vehicles registered in November, which was only 0.4 per cent fewer than the 11,222 units sold in the same month of last year.
The top model was Tesla’s Model Y, pictured, with 1,099 units for a 9.8 per cent share of the market – its tally a year ago was zero.
Mitsubishi’s Outlander was second with 599, down 41 per cent from 1,015 in November last year, and Toyota’s RAV4 was third on 572, falling 21 per cent from 724.
Completing the top five was the BYD Atto 3 on 475 units and Suzuki’s Swift with 438.
The Outlander was number one on the year-to-date ladder with 8,769 registrations and an 8.1 per cent market share. The RAV4 was second on 5,597 and 5.2 per cent, followed by the Suzuki Swift with 3,564 and 3.3 per cent.
Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross and the Model Y are next with 3,402 and 3,358 units respectively.
Toyota was the best-selling marque last month with its 1,654 cars registered accounting for 14.8 per cent of the market. However, its total was down 22.2 per cent from November 2021.
Next on the list was Tesla with 1,365 units and a 12.2 per cent market share. Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Kia made up the rest of the top five with 1,306, 929 and 830 units respectively.
Mitsubishi leads the marques’ ladder year to date with 16,277 units and a 15.1 per cent market share.
Toyota is second with 15,814 registrations and 14.7 per cent, followed by Kia on 11,008 and 10.2 per cent.
Suzuki is on 7,732 and 7.2 per cent, and Hyundai has registered 7,155 units this year this year for 6.6 per cent of all activity.
