Indian manufacturer Tata Motors has secured another fleet order for its electric cars. Cab company OHM E Logistics in Hyderabad has ordered 1,000 units of the Xpres-T EV compact electric car.
In its statement, the company does not mention when the EVs will be delivered. Only that it will be done “in a phased manner.” Just a few weeks ago, Uber ordered 25,000 of Tata’s Xpres-T EV, which will be delivered over the course of the next three years.
Tata Motors unveiled the Xpres brand in 2021. It is reserved for fleet customers only. The Xpres-T EV is the first vehicle launched under the brand. According to the carmaker, it is available in versions: One with a 26 kWh battery and 315 kilometres of range, and another with a 25.5 kWh battery and a range of 277. The EVs can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in 59 and 110 minutes, respectively.
Tata Motors says it has delivered more than 50,000 electric cars to private and fleet customers in India so far (not just the Xpres-T EV). The company has also won several tenders for electric buses in India in recent months.
