After a new Subaru, but not sure how long you’ll have to wait?
Issues such as semiconductor chip shortages, shipping problems and sickness and isolation have affected the ability of manufacturers like Subaru to keep their production lines going over the last two years.
As such, all of the Japanese brand’s models are currently experiencing some delays.
However, some models are in greater supply than others, with flexibility around powertrains, specification and vehicle colour likely to see a vehicle in your driveway sooner.
Overall, according to Price My Car, the average wait time for a Subaru is now 97 days – compared to 90 days in January 2022.
The WRX sedan and wagon and the Outback are worst off with waits of almost four months, while the Impreza and Forester are closer to three. The XV has the shortest wait at just over two months. Information on the BRZ sports car is currently unavailable.

Late last year, a spokesperson for Subaru told us: “Subaru Australia continues to work closely with Subaru Corporation to deliver vehicles to customers as soon as possible.
“Delivery timeframes for customer orders can vary for a variety of reasons (including model, colour and variant preferences).
“As always, customers are encouraged to speak with their local Subaru Retailer who are best placed to advise delivery timeframes for specific orders.”
With all of the above in mind, it is important to consider this article a guide only.
